It's the most wonderful time of the year!

Some people claim that to be Christmas - and I truly love Christmas. But for me - a St. Louisan for the majority of my life - the most wonderful time is baseball season. The the St. Louis Cardinals home opener this Thursday. And Corbin's baseball games will be kicking off soon. Our tournament this past weekend was snowed out. Yes, snowed out. After beginning with 80 degree weather, Friday morning brought us a dusting of snow. And then Saturday we received 5 inches of snow! It was a little surreal to wake up to birds chirping and look out to see a blanket of snow. We are looking at a chance for another snow tomorrow and then hopefully winter will finally say uncle and hand over the reins to spring. We have some games to play!

Wordless Wednesday

What do you mean I shouldn't poop on the floor?

New Addition

After years of going back and forth with Corbin about the pet issue, I've given him (both to him and way-too-logical self) and we will be adding a new member to the family. I will save the name announcement in case it changes, but our little girl fur-baby was born today.

She and her three brothers are healthy, and mama is being watched in case she has one or two more. We can't wait until she joins us around the 4th of July. In the meantime, I am looking for cute dog bowls and other (nice, but inexpensive) items.

Welcome

Greetings!

Welcome to Life In the 314: Musings on Living in the Gateway to the West.

I am a thirty-something proud single mother to Corbin, a sweet and loving, yet strong-willed 9 year old. Much of my time is spent cheering him on at various sporting events, nagging him (Do your homework! Brush your teeth! Now really brush them this time!), worrying about him, etc. I am also a public relations and marketing professional, working to help
national and local clients navigate through all of the challenges facing companies (economic, consumer, media). In my spare time (whenever that is), I enjoy reading and discovering new spots in St. Louis. I am constantly trying to organize my home, but haven’t found the ongoing solution yet (although more space would help).

My life can be crazy and hectic, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
